Jennifer Chew
Counsellor / Couple Therapist
Provisional Clinical Member (SAC)
Masters in Counselling
(Swinburne University)
Jennifer's experience as a caregiver of a family member struggling with anxiety and depression and her several grief and loss experiences motivated her to become a professional counsellor. However, she could not embark on a study to be a professional counsellor until much later due to her role as her family responsibilities. She worked in the IT Healthcare industry while supporting others in the lay capacity.
Married with two teenage children, Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in lay counselling and mentoring of youth and adult individuals, couples and families. She is passionate about helping people acquire better relational dynamics by empowering them to make a positive difference in their families, career and society. Jennifer is an experienced speaker and facilitator on personal wellness and parenting skills.
A few years ago, Jennifer eventually fulfilled her dream of enrolling in further study to become a professional counsellor. She proved it is better to be late than never to pursue your dreams. Since her career transition, Jennifer has counselled individuals and couples with anxiety, addiction, depression, grief, relationship and trauma. Her passion is to strengthen her clients' intrapersonal and interpersonal relationships.
Outside counselling, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, brisk walking, drinking coffee at various cafes and singing on Sundays.
