Our Founder

Rose Faquir
Clinical Director / Principal Trauma Psychotherapist

Rose Faquir, the Founder and Clinical Director of Restoring Peace Counselling and Consultancy Pte Ltd, ventured into professional counselling after her encounter with traumatic experiences that affected her sense of dignity and self-esteem. She experienced healing from her trauma through counselling, positive social support and a unique faith journey. Rose's healing from ashes to beauty motivated her to make a career switch from a designer to a professional counsellor and psychotherapist.

Rose Faquir has rich experience in counselling youth and adults individuals and families through private counselling, social services and rehabilitation centres. She graduated with a Master of Arts in counselling from the TCA College, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Wales and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision from the Swinburne University of Technology. She holds several accreditations, including being a Registered (Clinical) Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and a Certified EMDR Practitioner with EMDR Singapore.

Rose has provided counselling and psychotherapy for childhood and sexual trauma survivors, anxiety, BPD, grief, depression, addictions, family violence, personality disorders, psychotic, and performance enhancement. She customised her therapy to meet her client's unique needs, integrating talks and expressive art therapy with EMDR and Brainspotting when necessary. Her passion for giving her best to her clients leads her to invest in continuing professional education frequently.

As a Clinical Supervisor, Rose supervises counselling students and professionals through individual and group supervision. Her approach is holistic, as she guides her supervisees to enhance their assessment skills, apply theoretical intervention in their cases, advise them on professional ethics and be aware of the connection between their personal and professional self.

As a trauma survivor, Rose has experienced counselling at a deep level, which enabled her to empathise and provide a safe space to her clients and her supervisees. Her prior working experience in a multi-industry that included advertising, tourism, F&B and manufacturing allowed her to interact with people from multicultural and diverse backgrounds. She provides therapy in English, Malay and Bahasa Indonesia.

Rose is a firm believer in self-care. She enjoys social gatherings, cooking, acrylic painting, travelling and exercise. She also goes for silent retreats at least twice a year.
