Dionne’s practice is grounded in a belief that each person carries within them the capacity for healing, growth and resilience. As an Art Therapist and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Dionne integrates creative, body-based and trauma-informed practices to support individuals in navigating difficult experiences, reconnecting with themselves, and developing greater capacity for regulation and resilience. She seeks to provide a supportive space where clients can gently reconnect with themselves, discover and strengthen their inner resources, and develop new possibilities for relating to themselves, others and the experiences they encounter in life.
Dionne’s practice is informed by her training and experience as an Art Therapist (AThR), Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP), Advanced Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (ACCTS-I), Trauma & Resilience Life Coach, and The REAL Shift™ Coach. Rather than relying on a single approach, she draws from these modalities according to each person’s needs, pace and readiness.
Dionne is particularly interested in supporting individuals who may feel overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, disconnected from themselves, or impacted by difficult or stressful life experiences. She is passionate in working with children and young people, using age- appropriate creative, sensory and body-based approaches to help them express and make sense of experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Through this process, Dionne supports her clients in developing emotional awareness, building inner resources, and experiencing a greater sense of safety and connection. Where appropriate, she works collaboratively with caregivers, recognizing the important role that supportive relationships and the wider family context can play in a child’s well-being.
Dionne’s approach is gentle, collaborative and strengths-based, creating space for clients to explore their experiences in their own time and in ways that feel manageable for them. When working with children, she tracks their interests and natural ways of engaging, allowing play, art, movement and imagination to become meaningful forms of expression and exploration.
In her personal time, Dionne enjoys slowing down with a good book, engaging in her own artmaking, and taking nature walks.
