Abigail's experience includes serving in Family Service Centre, Community Mental Health and Hospice. She deeply desires to help her clients achieve their goals and finds joy in journeying through rough times for a breakthrough. She believes in the importance of caring for an individual's mental and emotional health and trusts that every person can overcome stormy periods of their life with guided help and support from her professional skills. She adopts the concept of becoming a secure base for her clients, helping them overcome challenges and build resilience to pursue their dreams and goals. 

 

Abigail's counselling experiences cover marital/relationship issues, parenting, family violence, mental health issues, grief and loss issues (death and non-death related), and crisis interventions. She provides psychosocial intervention and counselling by integrating expressive modalities in the different therapeutic approaches to supporting adults, children and teenagers. Abigail advocates for work-life balance and enjoys taking overseas trips to hike and engage in water sports, such as jet skiing, as part of her self-care practice.

 

Before Abigail embarked on her counselling career, she held a diverse corporate portfolio and volunteering experiences to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Abigail is competent in counselling in English and Mandarin. She also provides clinical supervision to counsellors and counselling students.
