Support Group for Survivors of Sexual Trauma

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

Sexually related trauma is highly traumatic and the effect of the abuse lingers for years. Even when they excel in other areas, the survivors often struggle with fears, self-blame and a low sense of self among other challenges. It is also more difficult when the people around them are dismissive, tells them to simply "move on", or are even doubtful that the trauma happened. The survivors of sexual-related trauma often feel alone in their journey of healing.

Restoring Peace Counselling & Consultancy will be conducting a six-session group therapy for survivors of sexual trauma. The objective of the group therapy is to help the survivors make sense of what is happening to their sense of self after the assault, learn coping skills and find support and encouragement from fellow survivors. A trained senior therapist will facilitate the sessions.

For more information, please get in touch with Jowena at contact@restoringpeace.com.sg and provide the following details: Name, contact number and preferred date and time.

We apologise that at this juncture, we can only open the sessions to people ages 21-years-old and above. We are looking forward to organise group therapy for younger age groups in future.
